Many companies don’t realize that there are quite a few different types of tables that they’ll need to use throughout their spaces when designing a new office. While some of them have a few similarities, they’re all quite different from each other. Here’s a list of the four types of tables every office needs to have.

Workstation Desks

Without a doubt, the one type of table every business must have is the average workstation desk. Your employees need a space to work at. The size and shape of these desks will vary depending on the size of the computer they use or the space they require for paperwork or other work-related items.

That means, sometimes, the workstation needs to include a full-fledged desk with drawers and keyboard trays. In other instances, it could just need a simple table with a flat top and four legs. It all hinges on what your employees require to finish their work effectively.

Reception Desk

While most workstation desks can often all be the same, one will always be different—the reception desk. These tend to be much larger. Some of that comes down to the fact that receptionists need more room to handle their daily tasks. But more often than not, it’s about presentation.

The receptionist desk is the first thing employees and clients see upon entering your office. Therefore, it needs to have that “wow factor,” and a larger desk will usually do it. These desks also tend to be more dynamic and have some sort of branding on or near them so that people know who you are the second they walk in.

Conference Table

While workstations are great for individual work, you need a place where people can come together to discuss project details or develop ideas. The conference table is the perfect place to do this. Of course, you can’t just go out and buy any large table you find. You need to know how to pick the right conference table for your space to ensure it’ll fit your company’s needs. Of course, depending on the size of your office, you might need more than one of these.

Break Room Tables

The final type of table every office needs is the break room table. Without these, your employees will have nowhere to eat their meals or sit and relax with some coworkers when they need a break from work.

A good set of break room tables can make a huge difference in the job satisfaction of everyone who comes into the office. Providing tables that can accommodate large groups mixed in with some smaller ones for more personal experiences is a good way to make sure everyone is happy with the break room.
